COACH DIONTA STEPHENSON
Head Coach -Â 8U
Coach Dionta is the Head Coach of DFW Hawks, who will coach the 8U team this year. He has played football since he was 6 years old and played through his collegiate years. He specializes on defense. He is excited about the team’s potential and looks forward to developing the children on and off of the field. He also serves as the organization’s co-president.
COACH BRANDON BALKCOM
Assistant Coach - 12U
Coach Brandon Balkcom (aka Coach B) is a former division 1 defensive tackle that played at Kansas State University 06-09. He is passionate about developing the youth through the game of football. He will be coaching the 12UÂ team and specializes in footwork drills and D/O-line training.
COACH ANDRE BARBER
Assistant Coach - 12U
Coach Andre Barber (aka Coach Dre) has coached youth football for 22 years. He enjoys teaching and putting the love of the game in their system. Many championships under his belt. He has 3 grown children and one grandson. He has the passion and the patience for making young boys turn into young men.
COACH MARCUS SPIVERY
Assistant Coach - 6U
Coach Marcus Spivery will be coaching the 6U flag team. He grew up in a family that loves football, so ever since he was in junior high school, he wanted to play and coach. In high school, he played running back and safety.
Personally, Coach Marcus has four kids, so he wants to teach and build kids into men. He wants them to know that it not just about football, but getting an education and doing something with their lives.
COACH DAVID WINDHAM
Assistant Coach - 6U
Coach David Windham (aka Coach Ham) will be coaching the 6UÂ team. Coach Ham coached in 1988-1991 at the Dallas County Youth Village team. Coach Ham also played his college years at the Jackson State University. After graduation, he was in the 1984 NFL draft, drafted in the 9th round by the New England Patriots and played some time in the CFL. He retired with the Super Bowl champion Washington Redskins in 1987. He is a proud father of 5 adult daughters and 2 adult sons.
COACH D'MARKUS SUTTON
Assistant Coach - 6U
D'Markus Sutton (Coach D) is an Assistant Coach for the Hawks Flag Team (6U). Although this is his first season coaching the Hawks Flag Team, he's coached flag football for three seasons with Carrollton Youth Football League and PSA McKinney. Coach D is focused on building the children's love for the game, keeping them motivated, and developing their team work skills.
When off the field, he enjoys time with his daughter and two sons by cheering them on from the sidelines of their games.
COACH LORENZO MARTINEZ
Assistant Coach - 12U
Coach Lorenzo is a passionate coach who excels at teaching children about the fundamentals of football with 2 years of coaching experience. He will be coaching 12U. He is excited about teaching kids, while enjoying the game of football. He looks forward to seeing these boys transition into young men. Lorenzo is a father of three boys and a daughter. He enjoys his family time and his love for classic cars.
COACH KENNETH WAYNE
Assistant Coach - 12U
COACH SMOKE! Is plain and simply put a lover of the grid iron game!! Former 5 time MVP Defensive Tackle and 2nd team Tight end , He’s been coaching youth football for 4 years. His love for teaching kids the greatest lessons that the game has to offer is his specialty!!! Teamwork, Integrity, Dignity and manhood are apart of his curriculum in growing his team!!
Coach Smoke specializes in Team Conditioning as well as Offensive/ Defensive Blocking and Tackling Techniques with an uncanning ability to bring out that Dawg in every player that encounters his leadership!!! With a couple of undefeated seasons and one championship appearance Coach Smoke will be a vital asset to the Hawks team Legacy for years to come!!! Coach Smoke is a husband, a father of 5 girls,3 boys, a barber, singer and musician when time permits!!!
COACH JOI STEPHENSON
Assistant Coach
The DFW Hawks Football team wouldn’t be where it is today if it weren’t for Coach Joi Stephenson, who oversees our strategy and advises on the best course of action. In addition, Joi was a D-1 scholarship track and field athlete, who specialized in the 400m hurdles and middle distances. She brings her track experiences to help the team with running form and endurance workouts.
